Introduction
The female mortal’s name was Bethany and the female elf's name was Cara. The mortal male’s name was Devin.
Apron the elf was a ranger used to the out doors and tracking and hiking in the woods, still careful to remember his heritage as a high elf. Apron, enjoyed mingling among mortals, yet the true apple of his eye was the stunning elf, Cara. He knew Cara as a youth but they were separated very young. He went to study the skills of the wood elves as a young elf to become a true warrior of an elf himself.
Devin was one of Apron’s mortal friends.
Devin was a warrior planning on becoming a Knight some day, yet being isolated in the wilderness with Apron set him on an indeed strange direction in his studies to become a Knight, this Devin would have never anticipated.
As a young squire, his liege Sir Vas Ray, the mighty, a great Knight was killed when the two of them, Devin and Sir Vas Ray, encountered an overwhelming number of orcs. Vas Ray fought valiantly to defend his young squire Devin from the orcs. Yet, Vas Ray’s instinct to protect his squire at all cost was used against him by the overwhelming numbers of orcs. The orcs cunningly separated the Knight from his young squire and defeated the mighty Sir Vas Ray, just as Vas Ray fell haplessly to the ground, the defiant battle against the orcs, was joined by Apron and his band of Wood Elves. Many of Apron’s good friends of the wood elves number where lost to the orcs’ swords and arrows. However, Apron managed to rescue the young squire Devin. Sir Vas Ray died in the arms of his young squire Devin; no elf magic could save him.
Bethany was a cleric of the good God of King Arthur. Devin was delighted to see her, as he knew Bethany as a youth, but was separated from her, when they were both rather young adolescents. Bethany went to the Hermitage to study from Christian Monks and religious, when she was very young. Devin was not aware that soon after Devin and Sir Vas Ray had left the Hermitage, it was pillaged by orcs. Before Bethany could even begin much of her studies of the Good God of King Arthur the Hermitage fell. She was very interested in the one good God, yet all she had was a few scrolls the Monks gave her to study, of which she did at length in the wilderness. Christianity had come only recently to the land of Gemvron and so remarkably Bethany found herself the lone expert on the matter of Christianity in much of the land. After she had escaped through a secret tunnel the Monks built into the Hermitage, Good brother Fay gave her one final blessing to go in peace and preach the good news of the Gospel to all nations and then fell a martyr to an orcs arrow. Just as good brother Fay fell, Bethany escaped into the woods. By some miracle, she escaped the tribe of orcs pillaging the Hermitage. Years went by and Bethany became a warrior in her own right, yet remembered the few teachings of her Monk instructors and preached the good news of the coming of the Kingdom of God to all whom would hear, in remote areas.
Cara was an elf, magic user enchantress, and conjurer among other things.
Bethany and Cara were arguing at the Bar when their male counter parts, spotted them, Cara and Bethany had just met for the first time that night. It was a fortunate coincidence that they had met, in this lonely outpost town where both mortals and elves were known to dwell. This had only been, after Devin had finally managed to urge Apron to visit a place where mortals dwelled, as it was not in the nature of elves to do so.
The subject of conversation changed from religion to acquaintance, and the ale flowed freely.
